With two new deals in place, Skybird Fresh Asian Grill is primed for growth
August 22, 2025
Skybird Fresh Asian Grill has just signed deals to open two exciting new locations, including its first in Ontario.
As you may recall, this unique new concept debuted earlier this year at 248 Jean- Talon West in Montreal’s Mile End and quickly hit it out of the park with a menu that blends Asian-inspired flavours with health-conscious ingredients in a fast-casual setting. In March, Skybird opened it second location in 2025 at 14845 Pierrefonds Boulevard in Montreal.
Think Retail is thrilled to work with leading restaurateurs Rio and Andrew Infantino as they grow this exciting brand.
With Skybird, the father-and-son team has a timely goal: “Revolutionizing fast- casual dining with its fresh and vibrant Asian-inspired menu, crafting signature meals that invigorate energy and a sense of adventure in every bite.”
The concept and menu are unique, with Skybird leading the way as the first chain in North America to specialize in the Banh Mi and Bowls scene. The concept taps into the desire for personalization by inviting customers to build their own bowls or sandwiches from an array of premium ingredients that include fresh vegetables oven-grilled proteins and signature sauces. The chef-inspired menu also includes popular house-baked matcha cookies, craft sodas, Boba tea and Vietnamese cold-brew coffee.
With two sites now flourishing, the Infantinos are gearing up for growth. Recent deals include a 1,000-sq.-ft. site at 1391 Ste. Catherine Street, at Bishop, which will mark the third opening. And, they have just signed to open their first restaurant outside of Quebec, a 1360 sq. ft. space at Constitution Square in Ottawa.
They are seeking to open several more locations in Quebec, as well as the Ottawa area and other parts of Ontario. Ideal sites are 1,000- to 1,300-sq.-ft. locations on high-traffic streets and in open-air centres, as well as site of 400 to 500 sq. ft. in super regional malls. They will also consider non-conventional locations, such as train stations.
