On the heels of Toronto opening, Columbus Café & Co partners with Indigo for new café-in-store concept

Columbus Café & Co, France’s favourite coffee shop, is quickly making its way into the hearts of Canadians, with a Toronto debut and an exciting 10-location deal with Indigo.
Columbus Café & Co is now open in the new PJ Condos tower at 283 Adelaide St. W. in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District. An attractive and vibrant new development by Pinnacle International, the 41-story tower is the perfect site for the brand to kick off its Toronto expansion.
Of course this is just the beginning, as Indigo confirms an exciting new partnership with Columbus Café & Co that involves a multi-unit shop-in-shop roll out, with 10 locations confirmed and more to come. Toronto Eaton CentreYonge Eglinton Centre, TorontoErin Mills Town Centre, Mississauga, Ont. The majority of these locations are to open this year and stay tuned for further announcements, as this partnership is primed for growth.
Think Retail is honoured to work with Columbus Café & Co on its Canadian expansion—it’s only a matter of time before this exciting global brand is a household name in Canada.
Founded in 1994, Columbus Café & Co has, over almost 30 years, built a stellar reputation for its premium coffee products and a fresh menu—sandwiches, salads and Buddha bowls, plus quality baked goods and sweet treats. In 2001, the company opened its first café outside of France—in Brussels—and today operates more than 200 locations internationally.
We were thrilled to welcome Columbus Café & Co to Montreal for its North American debut in 2020. Building on that first site on Mont-Royal Avenue, the company now has 10 locations in and around the city.
This beautifully designed brand, with its charming bear theme, is exactly what a café should be—bright, modern and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere where people can gather with friends for a coffee and a meal or pop in on their way to and from work for a coffee and pastry.
Growth continues, as Columbus Café & Co explores potential locations throughout Quebec and in Toronto. The plan is to open as many as 20 cafes in the next 12 months. This is the perfect addition to a bustling neighbourhood seeking a fresh café concept that will drive foot traffic from morning to night.
Ideal spaces are 1,500 sq. ft. and the preference is for corner locations and/or drive thru opportunities along high streets, as well as super regional malls, open-air plazas, train stations, hospitals and airports.
