Mia sets its sights on Ontario after continued Quebec growth
October 05, 2026
Mia is continuing to build momentum across Canada, with the Quebec-based jewelry brand opening its latest kiosk at Place Ste-Foy on Oct. 7.
The new location brings to 15 Mia's growing network of shopping-centre locations across Quebec, where the brand has established itself as a strong performer.
Place Ste-Foy is an ideal home for the growing Canadian brand. Located on Boulevard Laurier in Québec City, the premier fashion and lifestyle destination features more than 135 boutiques and stores, including leading brands such as Simons, Birks, Sephora, Apple, Zara, Aritzia and lululemon. The centre attracts more than 8.6 million visitors annually.
Founded and owned by Kim Labrecque, Mia has carved out a distinctive niche with elevated, modern kiosks and a collection of affordable, allergy-free jewelry. Its products are primarily made from high-quality stainless steel and are designed to be durable, tarnish resistant and suitable for sensitive skin. In an era where concerns about allergies are on the rise and awareness of the health issues around toxins is paramount, Mia has hit the mark. Mia's productivity is so impressive. Further sales continue to climb each year, which underscores the strength of the brand and the opportunity it presents for shopping-centre landlords.
Labrecque comes from a family with deep roots in jewelry and accessories. His late father, Marcel, founded Bizou International, and Kim has built on that entrepreneurial legacy with Mia, which he founded in 2011.

Following its continued expansion in Quebec, Mia is now setting its sights on Ontario, with Ottawa identified as the company's target market for its first locations in the province. Super-regional shopping centres are of particular interest as Mia looks for the right environments to support its next stage of growth.
The company has also explored opportunities outside Canada, including a South Florida debut, while continuing to build its core Canadian business. In addition to its retail network, Mia has developed a wholesale business serving approximately 80 distributors around the world.
At Think Retail, we're thrilled to continue working with Kim and the Mia team as they expand this innovative Canadian concept. With a proven retail model, strong sales productivity and ambitious growth plans, this is a brand worth watching. For more information about Mia's expansion plans, contact the Think Retail team
