Mia Looks to South Florida for its U.S. debut
December 24, 2024
Quebec-based Mia is ready to bring a French twist to Floridians, with plans to open its first location south of the border.
Mia, which operates 14 elevated kiosks in shopping centres across Quebec, has built a strong reputation for its beautifully designed allergy-free jewelry.
It’s a fresh take on fast-fashion, one that encourages jewelry-aficionados to say goodbye to cheap products with questionable toxins that harm their skin and the planet. Mia is innovation at it’s finest—a true Canadian success story. Founder Kim Lebrecque comes from a strong entrepreneurial family with deeps roots in jewelry and accessories. His late father Marcel, a respected Quebec business leader, founded Bizou International.
Now Kim is taking his own concept to new heights with Mia, a brand that focuses on premium sustainable jewelry made of high-quality surgical stainless steel that is not only allergy-free and tarnish resistant, but also affordable.
Mia kiosks, which are sleek and modern, feature a wide range of product lines, from classic pieces to refined party bling that span earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets and watches for women and men. These products are beautifully designed, well crafted and made to last, with eco-friendly plating that offers a true alternative to gold.
In an era where concerns about allergies are on the rise and awareness of the health issues around toxins is paramount, the concept is so timely and well positioned for growth. Mia has built an impressive following online, with more than 150,000 subscribers to its newsletter, as well as thousands of social media followers. People are drawn not only to the brand’s products, but also its ethos—as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Mia launched Earrings of Hope in 20214 and has since donated more than $1.6-million to ill children and their families.
At Think Retail, we have worked with the Lebrecque family for decades and we are thrilled to partner with Kim as he continues to grow the Mia brand, both in Canada and, now, the United States.
First things first, the goal is to debut in South Florida, with a focus on finding the right fit to open a 200 to 250-sq. ft. kiosk at a super regional shopping centre in either Broward County or Dade County.
