KaleMart24 opens third location and unveils expansion plans for 2025
October 07, 2024
After an exciting start to 2024, KaleMart24 continues the momentum into fall, with its third location—and biggest store to date—opening in downtown Montreal, and two more in the works for early 2025.
Dubbed “the Whole Foods of convenience stores” by founder and entrepreneur Sam Oussama, KaleMart24 is an exciting new convenience store/market concept, with a focus on fresh and sustainable products—from ready-to-eat meals to snacks, beverages, pet-related items, personal-care items and household staples—curated to appeal to busy health-conscious consumers, who want to live and eat well.
It debuted in March with a 1,200-sq.ft. store in Berri-UQAM, the largest station in the Montreal’s Metro system and a busy commuter hub, followed by a 600-sq.-ft. store in Jarry Metro in the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension.KaleMart24 kicks off October with another beautifully designed and much-anticipated 2,055-sq.-ft. store at 1055 de la Montagne (adjacent the Bell Centre).
Plus, Think Retail is pleased to announce KaleMart24 has signed deals to open a 1,162-sq.-ft. store in Gatineau’s Bloome Condos and, marking its Ontario debut, a 1,226-sq.-ft. store at 47 William St. in Ottawa—both are slated to open in January 2025.
We are thrilled to work with Oussama and his team to expand this innovative brand in Quebec and beyond.
The plan is to open several locations in Montreal in the next 12 to 18 months, with a focus on high-traffic street-front locations, open-air plaza and office towers. Ideal spaces are 850 to 1,500 sq. ft.
And, KaleMart24 aims to make its Toronto debut in the second half of 2025—the focus there is on the downtown core. The goal is open dozens of stores across Canada, and, eventually, North America.
As founder and CEO of Montreal-based Toro Beverages, Oussama is already at the forefront of the BFY movement. His stores offer an innovative take on the traditional depanneur, with a modern market vibe and focus on technology, which includes an enticing loyalty program, as well as self-checkout, contactless and mobile payments options for easy shopping 24/7.
