KaleMart24 kicks off expansion with an inaugural store in Montreal

After months of anticipation, KaleMart24 is celebrating the opening of its first location in Montreal.
Dubbed “the Whole Foods of convenience stores” by founder and entrepreneur Sam Oussama, the fresh new concept debuted in a beautifully designed 1,200-sq.ft. space in Berri-UQAM, the largest station in the city’s Metro system and a busy commuter hub.
A second 600-sq.-ft. KaleMart24, will open later this month in Jarry Metro in the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, followed by a 2,055-sq.-ft. store at 1055 de la Montagne (adjacent the Bell Centre) in late April.
Positioned “where convenience meets wellness in perfect harmony,” KaleMart24 is ready to revolutionize the convenience store concept with a fresh product mix designed to appeal to a new generation of busy health-conscious consumers seeking better-for-you and sustainable products.
Think Retail is thrilled to work with Oussama and his team to grow this exciting new brand. KaleMart24 is embarking on an aggressive expansion plan, with a focus on high-traffic street-front locations of 1,000 to 1,500 sq. ft. Next up, the plan is to open in Toronto by the end of the year, with the ultimate plan of having dozens of stores across Canada, and, eventually, North America.
As founder and CEO of Montreal-based Toro Beverages, Oussama is already at the forefront of the valuable BFY movement and has a deep understanding of the KaleMart24 target demographic. No doubt this fresh convenience concept will have wide appeal, but it’s designed with Millennials in mind.
Oussama and his team have scoured the world to bring shoppers a thoughtfully curated selection of natural, organic, and local products, from snacks and beverages to pantry staples, pet supplies and personal care items, as well as a vast selection of ready-to-eat meals.
All are designed to support time-strapped on-the-go customers in their efforts to live and eat well.
The new store is a refreshing take on the traditional depanneur—modern and bright with a market vibe, high-quality food experience and destination coffee matcha counter.
Technology is at the forefront of the KaleMart24 concept: Mobile-savvy customers will benefit from a loyalty program, as well as contactless and mobile payments options for easy shopping 24/7.
