Kale Mart 24 to debut this fall with two inaugural Montreal stores

Kale Mart 24 is moving ahead with plans to revolutionize the convenience stores business, with the planned opening of its inaugural locations on Montreal.
Founded by entrepreneur Sam Oussama, the fresh new concept—dubbed “the Whole Foods of convenience stores”—will debut in two metro stations. A 1,200-sq.ft. store is to open in Berri-UQAM, the largest station in the system and a busy hub.  The other, a 550-sq.-ft. Kale Mart, will be well located in Jarry Metro in the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension.
Both stores are slated to open in September and will serve a new generation of on-the-go shoppers who are seeking a new product mix. Forget the junk food—the shifting consumer sentiment among these young health-conscious shoppers is a desire for better-for-you sustainable products.
As founder and CEO of Montreal-based Toro Beverages, Oussama is well versed in the BFY movement and consumers’ desire for a fresh experience. Kale Mart 24 will have wide appeal, but the concept is designed with Millennials in mind. This time-strapped busy demographic desires something that most convenience stores can’t offer— a high-quality food experience, with a unique narrative and global flavours.
The award-winning retail design firm Gervais Harding & Associates is working on the two new stores. The look is modern –upscale, with a welcoming market-like vibe and a selection that spans snacks, beverages, meals, personal care items and even organic pet food.
Technology is at the forefront and mobile-savvy customers will benefit from a loyalty program, as well as self-checkout, contactless and mobile payments options for easy shopping 24/7.
Think Retail is thrilled to work with Oussama as he grows this exciting new brand.  The plan is open several more locations in Montreal throughout 2023 and 2024, while looking to Toronto for further growth. The ideal store size ranges from 750 to 1,250 sq. ft. in high-traffic areas with heavy pedestrian foot traffic, such as nearMetro stations, train stations, airports, universities and high streets.
