Adopt, the French fragrance house, opens premier location in Montreal
October 08, 2024Adopt, a refreshing French retail concept that focuses on affordable fine fragrances and related accessories, makes its debut in Canada at Galeries d’Anjou in Montreal.
The 629-sq.-ft. store is an exciting addition to the busy 1,100,000-sq.-ft. shopping centre, which is owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge. Adopt a global brand, with mass appeal, and an innovative retail concept that cultivates a loyal customer base and keeps them coming back for more.
Later this month, Adopt will open two more stores in the Province of Quebec—a 616-sq.-ft. store in Carrefour Laval and a 536-sq.-ft. store at Place Ste-Foy.
Think Retail is delighted to confirm that Adopt plans to open an additional six to eight stores in Quebec in 2025 and, ideally, make its Ontario debut in late 2025.
Marcel Rinaldy, a successful entrepreneur and business leader, is overseeing Adopt’s corporate expansion here in Canada.
It’s a surefire hit—a forward-thinking sustainably focused retail brand that is both chic and accessible.
Founded in France in 1986 by perfumer Dominique Monlun, the brand is fresh and engaging, with stores that reflect this ethos. The product range includes more than 100 original, joyful, feminine, masculine or mixed eaux de parfums, as well as complimentary items, such as sprays, body creams, candles, essential oils, lip balms, and skincare items, made in a beautiful historical production site in Cestas, near Bordeaux.
Adopt is all about encouraging customers to have multiple fragrances for all of life’s moods and moments, from every day to formal and seasonal. Its appeal is wide-ranging, with something for people at all ages and stage of life: The average customer is aged 34, with 37% ages 18 to 25, 42% ages 26 to 45 and 21% over 45 years.
In terms of growth, ideal spaces are 450 to 800 sq. ft. in super regional malls, as well as busy commuter hubs, such as airports and train stations.
