Adopt ramps up Canadian expansion with two new stores
December 05, 2024
It’s been a busy fall for Adopt, the vibrant French retail concept that focuses on affordable fine fragrances and related accessories, with its debut store opening in Canada and now two more locations, just in time for the busy shopping season.
In October, the company opened a 629-sq.-ft. boutique at Galeries d’Anjou in Montreal, which has performed extremely well, exceeding sales expectations after just the first month.
Now, two more stores—a 616-sq.-ft. store in Carrefour Laval and a 536-sq.-ft. store at Place Ste-Foy in Quebec City—are welcoming customers, who are excited to explore this fresh and innovative retail concept.
Think Retail is thrilled to work with entrepreneur and business leader Marcel Rinaldy, who is overseeing Adopt’s corporate expansion here in Canada.
We are also thrilled to share that two more stores are in the works—one in Quebec City and another in Montreal’s South Shore. Details to be announced soon.
As shoppers in Quebec get to know the Adopt, there’s no doubt they will fall in love with the innovative brand that’s evolved into a global star.
Founded in 1986 by French perfumer Dominique Monlun, Adopt’s product range now includes more than 100 original, joyful, feminine, masculine or mixed eaux de parfums, as well as complimentary items, such as sprays, body creams, candles, essential oils, lip balms and skincare items.
All are made in a beautiful historical production site in Cestas, near Bordeaux, which reflects the brand’s focus on quality. The twist is that the retail concept is both elevated French chic and accessible, which appeals to a wide consumer base: The average customer is aged 34, with 37% ages 18 to 25, 42% ages 26 to 45 and 21% over 45 years.
The goal is simple—offer sustainably focused products in a beautiful setting, ensuring loyal customers are inspired to embrace multiple scents for all of life’s moods and moments.
Adopt plans to open up to eight stores in Quebec in 2025 and, ideally, make its Ontario market entry. Target spaces are 450 to 800 sq. ft. in super regional malls, as well as busy commuter hubs, such as airports and train stations.
